Gene agreed to draw up a will for my grandmother. He reached out to see if I’d agree to be her executor, which I did agree to. After my grandmother’s passing (only a few days passed since our call), I reached out to Gene for next steps and to inquire if the will had been finalized. Honestly, I did not think he had enough time to complete the process. I was prepared for that answer. I NEVER GOT A RESPONSE. I emailed, texted, called, and left voicemails. I even went into his office to attempt contact and was advised he was in with a client and had back to back appointments. I made it very clear to the person I spoke with that I was quite frustrated and needed to hear from him to know what my next steps were. This person took the message but I still did not hear back. BY FAR THE BEST! Gene primarily handles real estate law and closings. There really is nothing negative that I have ever heard Anyone say about him! The attention to detail and personal care that Gene gives to ALL his clients is frankly astounding! He doesn’t just go through the motions. He cares and looks out for you. It’s rare in today’s world. Gene Davis seems like a nice guy. The limited interactions I had with him were pleasant. But that’s the problem – the interactions were limited. What I mean by limited is that he didn’t respond to any of my emails, calls, or texts regarding the legal matter he agreed to take on. The first correspondence about possibly taking on my case was met with agreement and enthusiasm. Tight deadline? No problem. Is everyone aligned on the end goal and the date of the end goal? Absolutely. But during the month-long period of “working” with him, nothing was done. Court papers were never filed, my requests for additional documentation were left unanswered, and there were no updates on the next steps. Having a personal referral from another lawyer, this lawyer agreed to a meeting. He never showed up (no text/email to notify me of any issues). He later apologized and we then setup a new appointment. Never showed up again (no text/email to notify me), never heard from him again despite repeated calls/emails/texts to his office.
