Gary is an utmost professional in all respects. He is conducted numerous mediations for the construction industry. You will not find a harder working mediator out there. Most mediators are on the clock and punch out as soon as the day is done. Gary does not give up. He takes immense pride in finding a solution and getting the parties to a final resolution. I wanted to leave a review for Gary as a mediator. I have known Gary for 30 years as opposing counsel, co-counsel, and mediator. In all of his endeavors, he is professional, thorough, prepared, and insightful. I have probably mediated with Gary over 50 times. Recently, Gary mediated a tough case in a commercial construction dispute. My firm represented the owner/developer as we usually do. Gary tenaciously handled multiple parties and insurers and mediated the case to a very beneficial conclusion. Gary carefully honors confidences but is also able to advocate effectively in both rooms. He is calm and cool and has a sense of humor and has the ability to allow the participants to have a day in mediation that avoids a day in court or a final hearing. I was referred to Mr. Tamsma by a friend and while he appears to be a good attorney, I would have to 'ding' him on his professionalism. I called to schedule an appointment/consult with his assistant. At the appointed time/date, Mr Tamsma called an hour late only to inform me that his assistant never should've scheduled this appointment without consulting him as he was too busy right now to discuss this. We had a brief conversation of my issue and scheduled a second appointment. Missed this appointment also, I've never heard from him. Twice, I rearranged my days to be available and close to the phone to no avail. This seems to be common behavior in the legal profession, but not appreciated none the less.
