My personal experience working with Annette as a parent coordinator was extremely negative. In my view, her approach often felt unprofessional and showed what I perceived as bias, even in situations where I believed the facts were clear. Some of the decisions made during this process were, in my opinion, harmful to my children’s emotional well-being. Another concern I had was the handling of fees. I felt that I was charged in situations where I did not believe I had any involvement, which added to an already stressful situation. Communication was also a major issue for me; attempts to reach her by phone went unanswered, and I did not receive return calls when I expected them. Annette Burns is the gold standard of litigation, mediation as well as acting as a parenting coordinator. Most of my experience with her is as a mediator. Most mediators view their goal as cutting a quick deal. Annette actually analyzes the facts as well as each parties positions and views her goal as coming up with a fair deal to all concerned. She also operates a forum that allows attorneys to share their views, concerns and questions that makes practicing family law easier and more efficient for everybody. Well, there may be a couple of negative reviews, you’ll notice that all of them are associated with her capacity as a parenting coordinator. I would give negative stars if I could. Do not hire Annette Burns. I made the mistake of hiring her. Over $100k later, despite her promises of assisting me with my child visitation, I am in a worse situation. Annette was soundly outmatched by my ex-spouse's attorney. To make matters worse, Annette is rude and her responsiveness is horrific. If you want a returned email or phone call be prepared to wait a week or more. Apparently she is retiring which is good news where she is a disaster as a family law attorney but she appears to be offering mediation services. Don't trust your family or your relationship with your child to her. There are much better and more professional options out there. Stay away.

My ex and I agreed to use Annette Burns as a parenting coordinator in our family court case, so this review is limited to that role. In a nutshell, she was terrible! I found her judgment, dedication and thoroughness before making decisions to be lacking. The best testament I can give to the quality of her work is the fact that out of the four total recommendations she submitted in our case, THREE of them were overturned by the judge. Buyer beware: The rules in AZ have changed that give parenting coordinators the power to make decisions on behalf of your case without the ability to appeal to a judge. Having a judge that gave our case the appropriate attention and deliberation it deserved was the only saving grace for our family.

Annette T Burns was assigned as a parenting coordinator on our family court case in 2016. She did so many bad things on our case, so many bad things, absolutely horrible. She asked the court to sanction a parent that supports the child with attending one of the best highschool in AZ, engineering highschool!!
