I hired Ms. Hoffman as my lawyer for a divorce. Overall, she is professional and empathetic. I think that now, with additional years in family practice, is likely to do an excellent job. I should say this is over 10 years ago, but I have had to put up with initial mistakes related to this. When I hired Ms. Hoffman, I was not aware of the entire process, (who is) and frankly was beside myself through the divorce. In retrospect, I should have approached it differently. As someone who had never experienced a divorce, I put my faith into the supposed expertise of a $500 an hour lawyer. My psycho ex-husband had systematically taken meetings with every decent lawyer within Westchester, so I was relieved when she was available -- should have been a red flag. At our initial meeting, Ms. Hoffman SEEMED compassionate, knowledgeable and proactive. Divorce is a stressful, chaotic and difficult process and I looked to her for guidance in every aspect.
