I called Platt Richmond seeking legal representation and was immediately met with a dismissive, unprofessional attitude from the receptionist. I politely explained how I found the firm online and was in need of assistance, and she cut me off with a sarcastic, “Well, what lawyer?” — as if I was bothering her. Her tone was abrasive, unwelcoming, and completely lacking in basic customer service. If this is how they treat potential clients, I can only imagine what the rest of the experience would be like. Do better.

Frustrating Experience – Lack of Attention to Detail & Poor Communication I had a very disappointing experience with Platt Richmond and Matt Acosta. From the beginning, there were constant mistakes that made the process far more frustrating than it needed to be. I was overbilled on multiple occasions, documents were not checked thoroughly, and critical information was not communicated proactively, leading to unnecessary surprises and playing catch up. What started as a straightforward engagement quickly felt like a bait-and-switch, with costs escalating in ways that were never clearly explained upfront. This law firm’s billing practices are concerning. Charges are not transparent, and I was re-billed for tasks they had already completed. Overall, I found their practices unethical and frustrating. BEWARE.

I highly DO NOT recommend this law firm. I paid a retainer for a Defamation of Character case and Kinsey Lakey stated that she was able to help and meet the deadlines of the trial date and after I paid a retainer she wanted me to push the trial date out 4 months later just to obtain more money. I also asked her the estimate price to countersue and she told me 25K-35K and I explained to her that I will look for another attorney for the countersue and we can proceed with the first case. Afterwards, she stated that she wanted to drop my case after she noticed that she couldn’t get over on me. I’ve tried to contact Bill Richmond via email and today I’ve noticed they’ve blocked my email after they accepted the case with a retainer. DO NOT do business with this law firm.
