I had an extremely disappointing experience with this company. Communication was terrible from the start. You can only dispute through email and they take forever to respond, and when they finally do, they never seem to have clear answers or solutions. What was most concerning was that they sent me documents containing other people's names and addresses. I feel as this is a breach of privacy and completely unprofessional. Their overall attitude was rude and unpleasant, making an already frustrating situation even worse. They don't care about anyone. I would not recommend them to anyone. There are far more professional, responsive, and trustworthy businesses out there. I would give 0 stars if possible.

1 Star – Harassment, Negligence, and Complete Disregard for the Elderly Portnoff Law Group has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. Despite being clearly and legally tax-exempt, my elderly parents have been repeatedly harassed over alleged Lehighton Area School District taxes that are not owed. We have provided proof of tax-exempt status multiple times, yet Portnoff continues to ignore documentation and push forward as if none of it exists. This is not a one-time mistake — it is a pattern of harassment. Letters, threats, filings, and continued pressure have persisted even after the issue was supposedly “resolved.” Instead of correcting their records, Portnoff appears more interested in intimidation tactics than accuracy or accountability. Waste of time! They won’t even help you to make it easier, even if you wanted to pay a debt off in full! They don’t really care about any Issues you may have! I tried to see if I can pay a debt over three months and they said no that the only thing they could do is one month or they will slap more penalties on it! I have to agree with some of the other people that are commenting that they are extremely heartless! Unable to make payments over the phone, but when you make a payment online, they charge you another Fee, apparently it’s for your convenience! Anything to make money and to make other peoples lives difficult! God forbid if somebody had a Life-changing issue and we’re unable to pay bills, they would just rip your house right out from you!

I had nothing but good experiences with them up until today. I got some woman who just immediately wanted to argue and fight. Maybe she wasn’t used to people being nice to her in her line of work? But to call me condescending and hang up on me was disgusting. Working in customer service sucks, I know that but not everyone is out to get you. Thankfully we had an amazing experience the night before and then again when I called back. I’m going to say she was having a bad day but clearly I am too if I have to call your office so some kindness wouldn’t hurt. I was told they would ‘notate my file’ which only means that, A) they are used to getting complaints about her and nothing will be done or B) I’ll now be known as a ‘difficult client’ in their eyes even tho I did nothing wrong.

It took me a little bit to get hold of them in January. Their VM said something about some sort of hack or security issue. They eventually returned my calls, and were very helpful at each conversation. They didn't have a file on me yet, but the City said they sent everything to Portnoff. I was in a little bit of a limbo, as the City wouldn't take payment, and Portnoff couldn't give me a number. I sent Portnoff a check with my best guess, which took them a bit to cash. Overall, they were friendly and professional. I hope that the City of Bethlehem and Portnoff will resolve the limbo that happens in January. I also hope I am able to get my payments in before the end of the year, as that would solve this overall. It's my fault for not being on time, so I reap what I sow. Thanks Port
