Working with David Schwartz was an unpleasant experience. I was referred to him by a mutual friend. Unfortunately, I did not do my due diligence. And that’s on me! After an initial introductory meeting (which is customarily no charge) on 1/9/25, he charged me $696 to review my old estate plan, $870 for the one hour meeting that was customarily, supposed to be free, and $4340 to finalize a draft of the estate plan that took 5 hours of his time! With the bill was a strip of paper that said that his billing rate would be going up to $914/ hour. For some reason, Mr. Schwartz felt it necessary to FRONTLOAD all lthe charges. Sam Shapiro helped me navigate an extremely difficult and emotional situation with family after my father passed and left details a little murky and unclear in his will.
