I came into my consultation knowing I wasn’t going to be getting representation and made that clear in my expectations. What I wanted out of my consultation was an understanding how the law SHOULD work and what my rights would be. Even explicitly stating the understanding that I could not get advice on my case, I wanted to know my rights. That did not happen. All of a sudden the attorney portal was down and there was no information relayed to me other than to go to the source of the problem I was facing. So, felt like the stone wall was Placed. Even with managed, low expectations nothing was even answered and no rights as a victim were relayed and the conversation was just shut down with a “sounds like you did what I would have told you to do. ok, talk to you later”. This site and organization is a joke and a slap in the face to tax payers in Texas! When applying for legal assistance (the whole purpose of this site and organization) you never qualify for services. No matter what you put on the application ( i know I tried many ways to test my theories) the site will tell you 'we are so sorry based on your online application answers and the information you provided, you are not eligible for our direct services" see the attached pic. The application ask you 3 questions and based off those 3 answers they can determine if you qualify. Again, this organization is a joke!

The attorney who called me, Danielle, was very understanding and kind. She patiently listened to everything I wanted to say. After I finished, she carefully explained what my next steps were, how to prepare, and what I could expect, both good and bad. She answered all of my questions. I felt she was empathetic to my situation. I very much appreciate her spending time with me. It was very comforting to have someone like Danielle to listen and guide me through a stressful situation. I am encouraged to move forward and confident I will get a satisfactory solution. Thank you for the help.

The attorney that spoke with me, Julian, was very professional. In a society where dishonest and crooked people get over all the time, I appreciate Texas legal service aid for helping out veterans like myself.
