W C Cox & Co International Probate

WC Cox contacted me to let me know that an unknown relative had passed away and that I was a possible heir to the estate. At first I was concerned that it was a scam but my husband, who is a lawyer, said that these services exist and they are legitimate. Our case was more complex then most but they told us upfront what to expect and told us the percentage they would take and that it would cover all legal and other fees. My husband said it was a very standard amount and there was no out of pocket cost to me or my family. Long story short, the lawyer they hired was able to win a settlement for my family after 2.5 years of litigation and the money was disbursed to us and is now sitting in our bank account. Like what “Brenda Highley” has claimed on your review, we too have got forms stating “not cost.” Also Letting out Brenda’s personal business of family matters seems unprofessional. Keep that between your client and you not on here. But since we are doing this… My question is how does this company find out of dead people who own property; and contact relatives to ask to give them a percentage of the deceased belongings for some petty return of what??? Especially our vulnerable elderly folks, my mom is sick, and she signed paper’s and was under the impression all that percentage is going to her sister. I did not know she signed something like this till later on on a visit. I notice she received something in the mail with the Cox company name. I asked around with our family and so far

The investigator will lead you to believe you have to fill out these forms or you won't get your inheritance. WHAT they don't tell you is everyone in your family that fills out forms (duplicate info) will pay 25% of their inheritance to Cox Co. ie.... I filled out forms listing all siblings and how we were related. My brother did nothing. He gets $57k and I only get $43k because Cox takes 25% of my amount for helping them do their job!! And my sisters filled out forms...so NOW, Cox gets $43,461.54 from my family. And a total of $188,333.33 from the entire estate! So their tag line of... "No cost to you" is totally misleading. It was very costly to me. There should be an amount negotiated for the entire estate that all party's pay.....Not just a few!!!

Mr. Harris: It was very disappointing to see your review of our services. I, personally, have spoken to you and have provided you with copies of the correspondence from the overseas attorney in charge of this probate. We have satisfactorily proven your right to inherit in this matter. Due to the deaths of other heirs that are involved in this probate, their survivors have the right to receive the portion that would have gone to the post deceased heirs, thus the delay. This situation is completely out of the control of this office. Typically, probates last from one to three years, dependent upon heirship issues, liquidation of assets, etc.. Its been almost 3 years and we keep getting nothing but lies. What should had taken 2 years from the beginning will be 3 or more. Staff is not well trained to even give out the information of a deceased relative or an idea of what to expect. Our family is not satisfied! They have the file but not much is shared about our Uncle or what he left behind.
